Jerrick Yao BScKin, MPT, DipManipPT, FCAMPT
Jerrick completed his Master of Physical Therapy degree from D’Youville College in New York and his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo. He then obtained his Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy and became a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). This international recognition means advanced skills in assessment and treatment of orthopaedic conditions to help patients get better faster and stay healthier.
Jerrick is a manual therapy-based practitioner who emphasizes proper patient participation and uses a whole-body functional approach to identify the root cause of the problem. He incorporates mobilization and manipulation of joints, nerves and soft tissues, therapeutic exercise and taping, acupuncture/dry needling and custom orthotics and bracing to help patients achieve their individual goals. Jerrick regularly participates in progressive continuing education and has a special interest in cranial, TMJ and foot & ankle conditions. He is also a DonJoy trained custom knee brace fitter.
Jerrick enjoys an active lifestyle that includes spending time with his family, hiking, running and playing basketball and table tennis. He also enjoyed his time as a personal trainer and as a volunteer therapist with Skate Canada.
