Meet Dr. Tina Meisami

Oral Surgeon Dr. Meisami

Dr. Meisami is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. She commenced her undergraduate training in 1988 as a Canada Scholar, a prestigious academic credential awarded by the Prime Minister of Canada for studies in Science. She obtained both her Bachelor’s of Science in 1992 and Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1996 with Honours from the University of Toronto. She completed her surgical training at the University of Toronto in 2001 and subsequently completed a fellowship in Orthognathic Surgery for correction of Dentofacial Deformities at University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. Dr. Meisami has been the recipient of several awards in recognition for her academic excellence and clinical skills.

Dr. Meisami is a staff surgeon at Etobicoke General Hospital, William Osler Health Systems where she mainly provides treatment for dentofacial deformities and facial trauma. She also maintains a private practice at Yorkville Oral Surgery where she is the principle surgeon providing full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical treatments such as dental implants, extractions, jaw reconstruction and pathology. She has a keen interest in paediatric oral surgery and treatment of children. Dr. Meisami enjoys sharing her time between her private and public practice and thrives on being able to enhance her patients’ lives by providing treatment that will significantly improve their function, facial aesthetics and long term oral health.

Dr. Meisami teaches at the post-graduate level at University of Toronto. She is an associate in dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry, where she is currently the Course Director for the Hospital Dental Residency programs. Dr. Meisami has had numerous publications, focusing on facial trauma and the correction of facial deformities. She has presented at various conferences and has been an invited speaker at several academic and professional meetings.

Dr. Meisami is a member of the Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Ontario Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

In her spare time, she enjoys Classical Piano, Photography, Flamenco Dance, Design, Travel, Fine Arts, Painting, Ballet, and spending time with her husband Matt and their daughter Jia.
