

Surgical Dental Assistant
Ivy is the newest member of the Yorkville Oral Surgery team. Originally a veterinary assistant, Ivy realised she had a stronger passion for dentistry and enrolled in George Brown's Certified Dental Assistant Level 2 program, graduating with honours in 2010. Ivy is keen to learn and her dynamic and friendly approach with patients has enabled her to adapt to her new position very naturally and enthusiastically. She has been a welcome addition to our team. Ivy loves the patient care the office provides and feels she continues to grow professionally, under Dr. Meisami's guidance.
Ivy has a great love for animals and has rescued several dogs. Away from the office, you'll find her working out at the gym or spending time at home with her grandfather and her puppy, Seashell.

Surgical Dental Assistant
Leaha joined the Yorkville Oral Surgery team in 2009. She graduated with honours from CDI College in 2004 as a Dental Assistant Level 1. After working as a Certified Dental Assistant, Leaha continued her education at Everest College, graduating with honours in 2008 from the Dental Assistant Level 2 program. Leaha is passionate about all aspects of surgery and assists Dr. Meisami with minor and major cases at both clinics and the hospital operating room. She has a very caring, intuitive and nurturing approach with our patients and is an active member of the Ontario Dental Assistants Association. Leaha loves the family environment at Yorkville Oral Surgery. The way the team interacts with one another is reflected in the compassionate patient care we provide.
When she's not working, you'll find Leaha spending quality time with her husband, two kids and their dog, Bella.

Patient Care Coordinator
Monika joined the Yorkville Oral Surgery team in 2005. She graduated from George Brown College with a diploma in Medical Office Administration in 2002. Always interested in gaining knowledge and continuing her education, Monika completed a certificate in Dental Office Management at the University of Toronto in 2008. Monika coordinates all treatment and scheduling at our office and the hospital. She has a caring and understanding approach to patient care and is dedicated to assisting with all the patient's needs involving their treatment plan or dental insurance.
In her spare time, Monika enjoys reading, painting, sports, the outdoors and travel.

Practice Relations Liaison
Simone joined the Yorkville Oral Surgery team in a managing position in 2009. After graduating from Career Canada College in 1994 with a Certificate in Dental Office and Chairside Assisting, Simone went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from York University in 1998. With more than 15 years’ experience in office administration and patient relations, Simone's role of liaison between our office and referring doctors and patients helps keep the lines of communication open. Using her excellent listening skills, Simone works diligently to establish positive, happy relationships with our referring doctors and patients. She is always available to discuss any questions or concerns regarding treatment coordination or financial planning and provides patient-focused care. Simone is passionate, dynamic, thorough and detail oriented. Her graceful and charming disposition puts patients at ease.
In her spare time, Simone loves watching movies and working out at the gym.

Registered Nurse
Valerie joined the Yorkville Oral Surgery team when it was established in 2003. After graduating from the Nightingale School of Nursing in 1970, Valerie worked for many years at Toronto East General Hospital in the intensive care unit. Loving nursing, but longing for a change, she decided to apply her years of skill and training to Dr. Meisami's team where she is the Managing Nurse. Valerie has extensive training in ICU and ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) and outstanding clinical knowledge in treating medically compromised patients. Valerie is involved in all aspects of patient care and provides post-operative support for our patients through education, follow up, and instructions. From the very young to the elderly, her tender and maternal approach to patient care puts everyone at ease. Valerie loves the camaraderie among the staff at Yorkville Oral Surgery which enables the team to work towards their mission of compassionate patient care.
When she's not working, she enjoys knitting and reading. Valerie lives with her husband and two grown children.

Registered Nurse
Lynne joined our Yorkville Oral Surgery team in October 2011 as our second registered nurse. She graduated from St. Clair College/ Chatham Public General Hospital School of Nursing in 1975. With a background in Acute Coronary Care, Lynne made the move to Oral Surgery in 1997. During her 14 years of working with several oral surgeons, she has gained valuable clinical experience and is B.L.S., A.C.L.S and H.A.R.P certified.
Empty nesters with three grown children, Lynne and her husband downsized and moved to Toronto recently. In her spare time Lynne enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends while exploring all the amenities living in a big city has to offer.
The team at Yorkville Oral Surgery is very excited to have Lynne as a part of the team.
